We stand behind every order. Please review our return guidelines carefully — the regulated nature of our products means policies vary by item type.
All firearm sales are final once the transfer is completed. This is not a discretionary policy — once a firearm has been transferred through an FFL and a Form 4473 has been completed, federal law and industry standard treat that firearm as used.
It is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the firearm at your FFL dealer before completing the background check and accepting the transfer. This is your only opportunity to identify any defects, cosmetic issues, or discrepancies from your order.
If you discover a problem at the time of transfer, refuse the transfer immediately and contact us at sales@dd214ammo.com before leaving the dealer. Once a firearm leaves the FFL dealer’s premises it is considered used and cannot be returned for a refund under any circumstances.
- Inspect all serial numbers, model, and caliber markings against your order confirmation before accepting transfer
- Test all mechanical functions (action, safety, mag release) at the dealer before signing
- Document any cosmetic concerns with photos at the point of transfer
- Manufacturer defects discovered after transfer must be addressed directly through the manufacturer’s warranty program
Due to safety concerns and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, we cannot accept returns on ammunition, primers, powder, or propellants under any circumstances.
Please verify your firearm’s caliber requirements carefully before ordering. We strongly recommend cross-referencing your firearm’s owner’s manual and the headstamp markings on your chamber before purchasing.
If you receive ammunition that is clearly different from what you ordered (wrong caliber, wrong quantity, wrong product), contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and a description of the discrepancy. Order errors on our part will be remedied with a replacement shipment at no charge.
DD214 Ammo is not responsible for ammunition purchased for the wrong caliber, firearm, or application. Double-check your order before completing checkout — we cannot accept returns once ammunition has shipped.
Non-regulated items — including optics, holsters, slings, cleaning equipment, storage, and apparel — may be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions below.
- Item must be in original, unused condition with all original packaging, tags, and included accessories
- Items showing signs of use, installation, or modification are not eligible for return
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the return is due to our error
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receiving and inspecting the return
Items marked Clearance, Final Sale, or Open Box at the time of purchase are not eligible for return or exchange regardless of condition.
We do not process direct exchanges. If you need a different size, color, or model, return the original item for a refund and place a new order. This ensures faster processing for both parties.
The following fees apply to specific situations. These are not punitive — they exist to cover non-recoverable costs incurred when an order is cancelled or refused after processing has begun.

To start a return for an eligible item, follow the steps below. Do not ship anything back without first receiving an RMA number — unauthorized returns will be refused and sent back to the sender at their expense.
